10 things I love about Sunny Coast HerbFest
There is a reason Sunny Coast HerbFest is going from strength to strength and attracting speakers from across the country.
For me personally there lots of reasons I love this annual event. Here are my top 10
Shared interests: Being a herbalist can be a lonely venture and its so wonderful to connect with other likeminded folk who share your love of plants and herbs
Catch up with friends: In a similar vein its a great opportunity to connect with past students, patients and friends I have made over the years sharing herbal medicine in my community.
Share community herbalism: Its a great event for herbalist to share their knowledge with their community.
Learn from other herbalist: Its almost impossible to spend the day at HerbFest and not learn something from one of the amazing speakers or stall holders
Buy handcrafted herbal products: HerbFest is the perfect place to buy exquisite handmade herbal artisan products made locally.
Support small business: Every speaker and stall at HerbFest represents a small business that is being show cased and given a chance to be supported by the community.
Be inspired: We tend to do things in the same way and every time I come to HerbFest I’m inspired by someone to tweak something or try something new or see something that I hadn’t thought of doing before.
Buy Herbs: Buy fresh and dried herbs and seedlings
Its great value: Most festival tickets are over $100 these days so for an easy access mini festival for just $20 its so accessible.
Great Food and music: HerbFest has great food stalls and music to round out the day with something yummy to eat and tunes to groove to while you shop, chat and learn about all things herb related.
What’s happening on The Wild World Substack
For paid subscribers for the rest of 2024 I will be sharing The Wildcraft Series where we study one plant in depth over 4 weeks, looking at how to identify it, it’s herbal monograph (folklore, historical use, scientific use, indications and cautions) as well as recipes and how it can be used in everyday life.
