Hi if your new to my work that’s me in the green raincoat sitting in a field, teaching people about plants.
That’s essentially what I do. I teach people about plants. I like to do it as often as possible out in nature. Sometimes its hard to reach many people in this way, and in times like these, where resources feel stretched in so many ways it feels important to help people remember that nature is abundant and food and medicine can be free and widely available.
So I write books. Wildcraft: The Science and spirit of wild plants as food and medicine was published in 2019 and my new book From the wild is due out later in 2024.
I have taught herbal medicine and nutrition at several universities and I love doing this. But they tend to have quite a strict curriculum and protocols to adhere to and sometimes I feel like I have more to say.
This is where Substack comes in. This has become my platform to share what I love with the world. It is a place to create in all kinds of ways. To write, to make videos, to do interviews with people who inspire me. To share photos, poetry and artwork. I love this platform for all the ways I can creatively share my message here.
This is also my job. I treat it like a job and put the same creative energy, commitment and responsibility into it. I am committed to showing up every single week to teach.
By becoming a paid subscriber you free up my time and energy to put more into this space so I can create more, teach more and be more present with you each and every week.
